“Ravindra Jadeja is not going to play today’s match and has not come to Mumbai with the team as he is getting married tomorrow,” sources in Gujarat Lions team have confirmed. “It is also not sure whether he would be available for game against Sunrisers Hyderabad to be played on April 21.”
The wedding might have some high profile invitees and the Gujarat Lions players are also expected to attend the occasion. Suresh Raina and Dwayne Bravo are expected to be there and are reportedly planning to perform some dance numbers at the wedding.
According to an India.com report: "The West Indies player (Bravo) who considers Ravindra dear friend is all pumped up to attend Ravindra and Reeva's wedding function. Suresh Raina and Dwayne Bravo who are excited for the wedding will be seen performing some dance numbers at the wedding function.
Suresh Raina looks forward to groove to some pure Garba dance number while Bravo is tight-lipped about his performance as he wants it to be a surprise for his friend Jadeja."
Jadeja got engaged to the 25-year old city-based mechanical engineer Reeva Solanki at an engagement function at his restaurant, Jaddu's Food Field, on February 5. They had exchanged rings and gold bracelets at the engagement ceremony.
Jadeja had admitted that he strongly felt that their 'many interests and thoughts [were] similar' and had believed that they were 'made for each other'.
"I found her to be the right kind of girl I had been looking for: Attractive, educated, understanding; someone who can understand me and, of course, from my own community," he had said.
"Reeva is a God's gift for me. I know life won't be the same again for me from now on. I'll have to be more serious, more responsible. Already 2016 has begun well for me and India. I'm sure now that I'm engaged to Reeva, lady luck will smile on me."
Reeva was not bothered by Jadeja's stardom. "I don't look at Ravindra as a celebrity," she said. "For me, he is a humble, simple, cheerful Ravindra, whom I have chosen for my life partner. But, yes, I'm happy and proud that I'm now engaged to him and we are going to marry soon."
"I hardly used to watch cricket on television until recently, but I've started now. I particularly watch cricket when Ravindra is batting or bowling."
Jadeja had also been gifted an Audi Q7 by his in-laws ahead of his wedding which has been a much-awaited event for some time now.
