IPL 2016, Stats: Ashoke Dinda's bowling exploits give Pune second win of IPL against Sunrisers

Pune won their second match of the IPL after a good bowling performance

The Rising Pune Supergiants needed a win coming into the match against a high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad, and MS Dhoni's men responded just the right way as they clinched their second win of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

After putting the Sunrisers into bat first, Ashoke Dinda, who came into play his first match of the IPL, removed the dangerman David Warner for a duck. No Sunrisers batsmen, except Shikhar Dhawan, played any knock of significance as the Pune bowlers regularly picked up wickets.

In reply, Pune were on top right from the start of the game, despite losing Ajinkya Rahane early on. Faf du Plessis and Steven Smith played valuable knocks to help the Pune side win their second game after the game was stopped due to rain.

1 – This is the first time in the IPL that the first overs of both innings were maiden wicket overs. And this was only the second time in all T20s.

1 – This was the first time that Ashish Nehra dismissed MS Dhoni in the 7 IPL innings that he has bowled against him.

2 – Ravichandran Ashwin has picked up two wickets in the IPL so far. He picked up both the wickets off the very first ball of the match.

3/23 – Ashoke Dinda's bowling figures is his second best bowling figures in the IPL.

27 – The number of runs that the Sunrisers scored in the powerplay was the least in any match of this IPL.

29 – David Warner went 29 consecutive IPL innings without being dismissed for a duck before he was dismissed today.

32 – Sunrisers Hyderabad's score when they were five wickets down. This is the lowest for any team this IPL.

39 – The number of runs scored by Sunrisers in the first ten overs. This was the lowest for any team this IPL.

48 – The number of balls that Shikhar Dhawan took to reach his fifty. This is the joint lowest in IPL 2016, along with Murali Vijay.

56* – Shikhar Dhawan's knock was the second lowest individual score for any opener who has batted throughout a T20 innings. The lowest is 53* made by Herschelle Gibbs in 2009.

118 – The Sunrisers Hyderabad's total was their second lowest in the IPL. Their lowest total is 113, that they scored against Mumbai Indians in 2013.
