IPL 2016, Stats: De Villiers, Kohli record knocks hand RCB a 13-run win over Pune
After losing the toss for the fourth time in as many games, Virat Kohli's men became the only team to win the match after batting first. This was the second time that the Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match after batting first.
AB de Villiers and Kohli played excellent knocks of 83 and 80 respectively to help RCB post an above-par total of 185 on a tricky Pune pitch. The batting pair from RCB came up with yet another record partnership and continued their good form in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In reply, Pune lost early wickets and had to suffer an injury to Kevin Pietersen. Ajinkya Rahane and MS Dhoni stabilised the innings, which followed Thisara Perera's late onslaught that gave RCB a scare. However, RCB held onto win the match and get their second win of the season by 13 runs.
