IPL 2016 stats- Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Lions: Finch magic does the trick yet again

Aaron Finch scored his third consecutive fifty

Gujarat Lions beat Mumbai Indians by 3 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With this win, Suresh Raina’s team has won all their three matches this season while Mumbai Indians lost two of their three matches.

Chasing 147, Gujarat lost wickets at regular intervals as Krunal Pandya and Mitchell McCenaghan had Mumbai in the hunt. McClenaghan’s 4-wicket haul went in vain as Finch, who was struggling to run, completed his fifty and took his team home with a boundary off the last ball of the match.

After putting Mumbai into bat, Gujarat struck early as Dhawal Kulkarni sent skipper Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya early on in the innings. Jos Buttler and Parthiv Patel tried to steady the ship but Shadab Jakati dismissed Buttler to pile the pressure on hosts.

Wickets kept on falling at regular intervals as Mumbai were looking to get bundled out for around 120. But a late blitz from Krunal Pandya and Tim Southee made sure they reached 146 in their 20 overs.
