DD had a disastrous IPL last year. That is not the scene this year. Delhi Daredevils are flying high in IPL 2016. With new mentor Rahul Dravid, DD look to storm into the playoffs. DD is currently third with two games in hand and looks formidable this year. With current form, DD will reach the playoffs. DD played their last playoffs in 2012.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a wobbly start to IPL 9. The team from Hyderabad went back to the drawing board after the first few games. Now, SRH is fighting  for number one. Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner is key for their success in the tournament.

Mumbai Indians had a similar start to IPL 2016. They fared poorly in the first few games. Now, they have their act together to put a few wins on the board. Rohit Sharma and Mitchell McClenaghan will be crucial to MI's success.

Gujarat Lions are flying high on the table. While the other new franchise Rising Pune Supergiants is struggling. To make matters worse, they have over four injuries (the only thing that is rising for RPS). Steve Smith was in tremendous form, Pune lost him over an injury. They have won only two matches so far. One against Mumbai and the other against Hyderabad.

Royal Challengers Bangalore has a stellar squad this year as well. They have some of the best T20 hitters in their strong batting line-up. Even after that, they are struggling in IPL 9. Mitchell Stark’s absence is costing RCB. Like RPS, RCB has only two wins. They have played fewer matches than RPS though. Like Pune, Bangalore has to improve quickly to get into the playoffs.

New season, new life is not the case for Kings XI Punjab. The struggles continue. KXIP had a catastrophic IPL last year. By the looks of it so far, this year looks like more pain for Kings XI Punjab. Their start players have been inconsistent and it has cost them matches. KXIP appointed a new captain. We will have to wait and see if that changes KXIP’s fortunes.
