IPL 2017: Highest run scorers, wicket-takers after Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Daredevils match

The Sunrisers Hyderabad beat the Delhi Daredevils by 15 runs

As the IPL gathers momentum, the bigger teams are separating themselves from the rest of the pack with every passing game. One of these teams, definitely, is Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team has a strong, well-balanced side which boasts of superstars in both the batting and bowling departments. To top all that, they have a dynamic and diligent captain in David Warner, who is leading in style from the front.

Yesterday, SRH outplayed Delhi Daredevils in all aspects of the game. They batted first to post a huge total of 191/4 and followed it up with a disciplined bowling performance to restrict DD to 171/5.

Daredevils did manage to take Warner out early on, but could not stop Kane Williamson (89 from 51) and Shikhar Dhawan (70 from 50) from posting a big partnership thereafter. The SRH bowlers, led by the in-form Bhuvneshwar Kumar, scalped wickets regularly to maintain the pressure on the visitors.

This win at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium is their 4th of the season. Let us look at the leading run scorers and wicket-takers after the game:

Sunrisers Hyderabad players are ruling both the orange cap list as well as the purple cap race. It would be exciting to see if they can sustain it until the very end.

Warner, with two fifties and a highest score of 76, has been exceptional with the bat. His average is almost touching 60 and his explosive batting at the top of the order has helped SRH thrive in all conditions.

If Warner is their messiah with the bat, Kumar dons the same role with the ball. He probably is the best Indian seam bowler right now and is promptly displaying that this season. With 15 tournament wickets, he is 3 wickets ahead of the second placed Chris Morris and 7 wickets ahead of the third-placed Rashid Khan. He has bowled with an economy of 5.71, which is sensational for a fast bowler.

Let us look at the points table now to understand which teams have a realistic chance of making it to the playoffs.
