IPL 2017: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) unveil new jersey for the season

The Kolkata Knight Riders have unveiled a new jersey for this season and the franchise took to social media site Twitter to announce the same.

The two-times champions have done away with their purple-golden black colours and have gone for a tinge of yellow in their jersey this season.

This change is quite significant as the Kolkata-based franchise have tweaked their colours over the years. After having started their IPL journey with a complete black jersey, the team has undergone significant change, both in their personnel and the merchandise.

The Gautam Gambhir-led side will be without one of their star players in Jamaican Andre Russell who is serving a one-year ban after having failed a dope test. However, they have found adequate replacement in the form of English all-rounder Chris Woakes and West Indian Rovman Powell. Also, with the likes of Trent Boult, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Umesh Yadav, Piyush Chawla, and Kuldeep Yadav they have one of the most formidable bowling attacks in the leagues.

The batting department has all the bases covered as they have the dependable Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa right at the top, followed by Chris Lynn the Australian who wreaked havoc in the just concluded Big Bash League by his six hitting abilities.

Also, they have Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan and Suryakumar Yadav and this line up assumes a sense of invincibility as on their day any one of the aforementioned batsmen can take the game away from the opposition.

Here is KKR’s squad for the upcoming season of IPL:
