IPL 2017: MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli retained by the Pune and Bangalore franchises
Ahead of the 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League, scheduled to be held in April next year, all eight franchises have released the list of players, which they have retained for the 10th edition next year.
Here’s the entire list of players:
1. Rising Pune Supergiants
The Rising Pune Supergiants have decided to retain as many as 16 players from the previous season and will go into the auction with a sum of Rs. 19.1 crore.
Players Retained: MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, R Ashwin, Steve Smith, Faf du Plessis, Mitchell Marsh, Ashik Dinda, Ankush Bains, Rajat Bhatia, Ankit Sharma, Ishwar Pandey, Adam Zampa, Jaskaran Singh, Baba Aparajith, Deepak Chahar and Usman Khawaja
2.Kings XI Punjab
The wooden-spooners of the last season, the Kings XI Punjab have retained the second most number of players among all eight teams with 19 and will head into the Players action with a sum of Rs. 23.35 crore.
Players Retained: David Miller, Manan Vohra, Axar Patel, Murali Vijay, Glenn Maxwell, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Anureet Singh, Sandeep Sharma, Shardul Thakur, Shaun Marsh, Wriddhiman Saha, Nikhil Naik, Mohit Sharma, Marcus Stoinis, KC Cariappa, Armaan Jaffer, Pardeep Sahu, Swapnil Singh, Hashim Amla.
3.Mumbai Indians
Two-time champions Mumbai Indians have retained the joint highest number of players with 20 and will carry a purse worth Rs. 11.55 crore.
Players Retained: Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Lasith Malinga, Hardik Pandya, Parthiv Patel, Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Gopal, Lendl Simmons, R Vinay Kumar, Mitchell McClenghan, J Suchith, Siddesh Lad, Jos Buttler, Nitish Rana, Tim Southee, Jitesh Sharma and Deepak Punia.
4.Sunrisers Hyderabad
The defending champions have retained 17 players from the squad that helped lift the title for the first time and will carry an amount of Rs 20.9 crore into the action next year.

5.Gujarat Lions
The Gujarat Lions, who had an impressive debut outing last season have retained 16 players and will carry a sum of Rs. 14.35 crore into the auction.
Players Retained: Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, James Faulkner, Brendon McCullum, Aaron Finch, Dwayne Smith, Dinesh Karthik, Dhawal Kulkarni, Praveen Kumar, Andrew Tye, Ishan Kishan, Pradeep Sangwan, Shivil Kaushik, Shadab Jakati and Jaydev Shah.
6.Kolkata Knight Riders
The 2012 and 2014 champions Kolkata Knight Riders retained the fewest number of players at 14 and will carry a sum of Rs. 19.75 crore into the auction.
Players Retained: Gautam Gambhir, Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav, Andre Russell, Manish Pandey, Suryakumar Yadav, Piyush Chawla, Robin Uthappa, Shakib Al Hasan, Chris Lynn, Umesh Yadav, Yusuf Pathan, Sheldon Jackson, Ankit Singh Rajpoot.
7.Royal Challengers Bangalore
The finalists from the previous season-Royal Challengers Bangalore- have retained the joint highest number of players as the Mumbai Indians at 20 and will carry a sum of 12.82 crores to the auction.
Players Retained: Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Shane Watson, Mitchell Starc, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel, Mandeep Singh, Adam Milne, Sarfaraz Khan, Sreenath Arvind, Kedar Jadhav, Stuart Binny,Samuel Badree, Travis Head, Sachin Baby, Iqbal Abdullah, KL Rahul, Avesh Khan, Tabraiz Shamsi.
8.Delhi Daredevils
The Delhi Daredevils have retained as many as 18 players from the last season and will carry a purse of 21.5 crore into the auction.
