IPL 2017: Royal Challengers Bangalore wear green jersey to support their 'Save Environment' initiave
Royal Challengers Bangalore are sporting the green jerseys today in the match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at home as a part of their initiative to spread the message on environmental conservation.
This is a part of an ongoing initiative by the franchise since 20 11 to promote their “Go Green” initiative. They have been doing this to create awareness about global warming. and have been taking part in initiatives to plant trees. They have also asked their fans to use public transport in order to save fuel and save the environment.
During the last edition, the RCB players took the initiative forward by commuting to the stadium on cycle while CNG rickshaws were put in place for the fans.
The Virat Kohli-led side are languising at the bottom of the table as they have only won 2 out of their 12 matches and are out of reckoning for the playoffs. The team would now look to go out and express themselves and give their fans something to cheer in what will be their last match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
They would want to upset few calculations of the other teams and Kolkata would be very wary of the threat of a star-studded RCB side. The Gambhir-led KKR have slipped a touch and would now look to bounce back and make it to the top 2 finish in the points table.
Mumbai Indians have already booked a spot in the playoffs and the all the 3 sopts are up for grabs for the rest of the teams.
