IPL 2017: Scientific astrologer predicts the winners and losers of IPL 10

The 10th edition of the IPL kicks off on April 5, 2017

Before we predict who will win this annual mega-event, let us first eliminate which teams will not win the tournament. There is an ‘astrological quota’ of success for every sportsperson. One cannot win more than what is destined in the stars.

You win or lose only to that extent to which your planets allow you to. Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma cannot win IPL 10 as both have already won the event twice and completed their quota of success for the event.

Old war horses like Yousuf Pathan, Shakib-Al-Hasan, Sunil Narine, Mitchell Johnson, Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh will look jaded and will not be able to power their teams, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, respectively, to another title.

Jacques Kallis and Mahela Jayawardene are some time away from coaching teams to major victories.

Rising Pune Supergiant’s Steven Smith and Kings XI Punjab’s Glenn Maxwell do not have horoscopes stronger than the other captains in the fray.  Also, Stephen Fleming of RPS will not be a part of any more tournament victories in the future having finished his quota of success with Chennai Super Kings.

Omitting an ‘S’ from their name will not produce any change in fortune to the team that finished second-from-bottom last year. They should have omitted the man-in-charge, Fleming, instead.

Sehwag, unfortunately, has inherited a weak team in Kings XI. Their chances would have gone up if Eoin Morgan was the captain and they will go if they don’t play Murali Vijay, Shaun Marsh and Darren Sammy in the playing XI. But that seems easier said than done.

So, the four teams that have any chances of winning the event are the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore, Suresh Raina-led Gujarat Lions, David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad and Zaheer Khan-led Delhi Daredevils.

Kohli has the best horoscope amongst all the captains followed by Suresh Raina. The Indian skipper will miss a few matches of the IPL in the beginning but expect him to go on a rampage as the tournament progresses.

Will Kohli be able to lead his side to victory?

Kohli will compensate for his indifferent form in the recently concluded series against Australia and that will not be good news for the other teams. RCB have come close on many occasions and this is their best chance to win, with probably the best astrologically balanced squad in the tournament, from opener Chris Gayle to teenager Sarfaraz Khan.

Coach Daniel Vettori can do what he could never do as a captain of his country – win a major championship.

Zaheer Khan has an interesting horoscope from a different era and hence has an outside chance. The team Delhi Daredevils is astrologically slightly unbalanced with far too many young players in the squad. Whatever chance they have is only because of the excellent horoscope of coach Paddy Upton and mentor Rahul Dravid.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have just won the last edition and hence their chances have gone down a bit but the extraordinary horoscope of their captain David Warner gives them the power to take a shot at the title for the second time in a row. Warner has probably the best horoscope amongst all captains playing in the tournament with the exception of Kohli.

So, the teams with the highest chances of winning IPL 10 are RCB and GL. SRH still have a chance and DD are the dark horses of the event. The teams that have no chance of winning this time are KKR, MI, KXIP and RPS. A change in captaincy for any of the teams midway can change the dynamics of this equation, though.
