Rohit Sharma – 9/10

Rohit Sharma walked out to bat when Mumbai were in trouble having lost two wickets for just 22 runs. And he played a captain’s knock, batting right till the 19th over, scoring 67(45) on a track which was difficult to bat on. Not only that, he timed 6 superb fours and also hit 2 huge sixes when the other batsmen failed to get any sort of timing.

Mitchell McClenaghan – 7/10

McClenaghan gave the Mumbai fans a lot of joy by dismissing Warner cheaply right in his first over. He bowled with dedication throughout his spell but failed to pick up any more wickets. Nevertheless, he ended up with decent bowling figures of 4-0-26-1.

Jasprit Bumrah – 7/10

Bumrah was once again superb with his bowling, claiming 1-20 in his three overs. However, he didn’t get able support from the other bowlers except for McClenaghan and hence Mumbai lost the match.

Parthiv Patel – 6/10

Patel scored at a healthy rate at one end when wickets tumbled at the other end during the first six overs of the power-play. He contributed 23 runs in 16 balls but fell victim to a superb diving catch from SRH skipper David Warner as he tried to heave Siddharth Kaul for a maximum. Thus, Mumbai lost their third wicket for a score of 36.

Nitish Rana – 3/10

Rana looked good today as he played a couple of handsome drives right at the start of his innings. However, it was Siddharth Kaul who got the better of him as he tried to go for a big one. Thus, he departed cheaply for 8(9).

Karn Sharma – 2/10

He could not give Mumbai a much-needed breakthrough on a track suited to his kind of bowling. He conceded 19 runs in his two overs without picking up any wicket.

Hardik Pandya – 2/10

Pandya wasted 24 deliveries for his 15 runs with the bat and also got out at a crucial juncture of Mumbai’s innings without compensating for the deliveries. Moreover, he conceded 13 runs in the single over that he bowled.

Kieron Pollard – 2/10

Pollard walked out to bat in the 15th over after the dismissal of Hardik Pandya. He came into this match on the back of a superb half-century, however, the West Indian didn’t look anywhere close to what he did in the previous match as he struggled for just 5 runs before getting dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the final over of the innings.

Lendl Simmons – 1/10

Lendl Simmons scored a superb half-century on his comeback in the previous match. However, he was cleaned up today by a superb delivery from Mohammad Nabi in the second over for just a solitary run made after facing five precious deliveries.

The Purple Cap holder put up another majestic performance today as he claimed two wickets and conceded just 29 runs in his 4 overs. Both of his wickets came in the last over of Mumbai’s innings.

Mohammad Nabi - 8/10

Nabi came in at the expense of Kane Williamson and justified his inclusion to a full extent. He bowled beautifully and ended up with figures of 4-0-13-1. His lone wicket was that of the in-form Lendl Simmons.

Rashid Khan - 7/10

The teenage Afghan sensation once again bowled an economical spell and troubled each and every batsman with his turn and bounce. His bowling figures in the match read 4-0-22-1; the only wicket that he claimed was of Hardik Pandya at a crucial juncture in the game.

Moises Henriques - 7/10

Henriques walked out to bat at the fall of Warner’s wicket with the scoreboard reading 7/1 in the second over of their run-chase. However, he stitched together a crucial stand of 91 runs for the second wicket along with Shikhar Dhawan and contributed 44(35) in the partnership before being dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah. Earlier in the match, he bowled an expensive over for 15 runs and that made the difference between an 8 and a 7 rating.

A rare failure for the SRH skipper

Today was one of those rare occasions when Warner was dismissed cheaply. He was out LBW to a superb in-swinging delivery from Mitchell McClenaghan for 6(6). However, he claimed a superb diving catch to dismiss Parthiv Patel earlier in the match.

Yuvraj Singh – 2/10

Yuvraj walked out to bat with the Sunrisers needing just 41 runs to win at a run-rate of under 6 an over. He could have finished the job with a breezy knock of 20 odd runs. However, he was dismissed for only 9(11) by Lasith Malinga.

Mohammad Siraj – 1/10

Siraj replaced Nehra in the playing XI today and a lot was expected of him. However, he was undisciplined in his approach and got smashed for 32 runs in his 3 overs.

Naman Ojha – N/A

It wouldn’t be wise to rate him as he didn’t get an opportunity to bat today. He did claim a simple catch, though.
