IPL 2017 SRH vs RPS: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) probable playing 11 against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS)
After a slightly shocking defeat at the hands of Delhi Daredevils, defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad will now look to rally around and bounce back against Rising Pune Supergiant.
This will not be an entirely easy proposition for Hyderabad as Pune is riding a wave of momentum after having won 6 of their previous 7 matches. The number 3 spot is up for grabs and both teams would now look to push for a top 2 finish in the points table.
Here we take a look at the probable XI of the Sunrisers Hyderabad:
David Warner
The captain has been the standout performer for his team and is currently miles ahead in the orange cap race. He has taken first guard and then unleashed his fury on the bowlers and like it was in the previous season his team has rallied around him beautifully. The captain would want to continue his purple patch and lead his team to the playoffs.
Shikhar Dhawan
Dhawan has been hot and cold this season and has more often than not played second fiddle to Warner. However, he now has to step up and take charge of proceedings up front and ease some of the pressure in David Warner.
Kane Williamson
The Kiwi skipper has been a welcome addition into the squad and his presence has bolstered the batting line up of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the middle order.
He is a solid player and has the ability to rotate the strike and as he gets into his work, he has shown that he also has the ability to find the boundaries at will towards the end of the innings.
Yuvraj Singh
After a bright start to his campaign, Yuvraj tapered off a touch as the tournament progressed. However, he found some hitting form in the previous match against the Delhi Daredevils and this is great news for Sunrisers, especially now when the league enters the business phase.
Moises Henriques
The New South Welshman has been an integral part of the scheme of things for Hyderabad both with the bat and ball. He has the ability to use the long handle and finish off innings with a flourish.
With the ball, he is a good defensive bowler and uses his cutters to great effect to prize out wickets and also to contain runs.
Bipul Sharma
The left arm spinning all-rounder can swap positions with Deepak Hooda who has not done much to inspire confidence from the management. Bipul, on the other hand can be a good prospect against the Pune team which is filled with right handers.
He can also slog the ball out of the ground and can be a handy asset for the team.
Naman Ojha
The wicket-keeper is a solid presence behind the stumps, but he has not quite come to his own with the willow this season. He has the talent and promise to be a good solid batsman and Sunrisers could look to push him up the order to utilise his batting abilities.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
The seam bowler has been a standout performer for Sunrisers this season and is rightfully wearing the purple cap. He has picked up wickets with the new ball, but his ability to nail yorkers towards the death overs has made him a prozed possesion for Hyderabad.
Rashid Khan
The young Afghan started the tournament like a train as he bamboozled batsmen with his variations in the initial few matches. However, as the season has progressed the batsmen have started picking him up and thus he has not picked up as many wickets as he would have wanted. His real test will start now and how he responds will in many ways will tell a lot about his temparament.
Mohammed Siraj
The story of young Siraj is a brilliant one and his performances with the ball is an indication of his talent and ability. He is fast, nasty and has variations up his sleeve. A good acquisition by Hyderabad, Siraj is certainly impressing everyone with his ability.
Siddharth Kaul
The young Punjab bowler has been quietly doing his job and he has been entrusted with bowling the pressure overs by Warner and has done a great job with it.
However, he should now look to pick up wickets as he the abilty to move the ball in the air with the new ball. Also, towards the death he nails his yorkers perfectly.
