Having enjoyed ten successful years, IPL is all set to go in its eleventh edition. In all these years, IPL has been a center-stage for players to showcase their talent. Many players have grabbed the opportunities and have risen to become a world-class player. One such player is Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli has been in a different league altogether even in the IPL. Ever since his inception into the league, he has been breaking records at an astonishing rate and, once again, he is all set to break quite a few records in the upcoming season of IPL.
Let us have a look at four records that Virat Kohli is expected to break in the 11th edition of IPL.
#1 Runs galore for Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli has been a revelation in every format of the game. Be it T20, ODI or Tests, Virat has always been a class apart.
Having played 149 IPL matches, Virat has scored 4418 runs at a jaw-dropping average of 37.44 and an astonishing strike rate of 129.83 and is marginally behind Suresh Raina on the list of most runs by a player in the history of IPL. Thus, in the 11th edition of IPL Virat Kohli is expected to surpass Suresh Raina to become the highest ever run scorer in the history of IPL.
In addition to that, Virat needs 582 more runs to become the first ever player in the history of IPL to score 5000 runs. Moreover, the RCB skipper will become only the first ever player in the history of world cricket to complete 5000 runs in a single domestic T20 tournament. Another top contender for the record is Suresh Raina who currently leads the chart in IPL with 4540 runs to his name.
