IPL 2018: 5 players who can replace Kagiso Rabada

South Africa v Sri Lanka - 1st One Day International
Kagiso Rabada recently won the Man of the Series award against Australia

Kagiso Rabada has witnessed a pretty hectic season as he has put in a lot of hard work in the last few months. Rabada has been one of the most vital players for South Africa in recent times but has gone through a lot of ups and downs in his career thus far as he has battled injuries along with unnecessary suspensions. The aggressive pacer scalped 23 wickets in the recently concluded series against Australia, following which he won the Man of the Series award.

KG has taken a toll on his body as he bowled the most number of deliveries in this season for the Proteas. As a result, the pacer suffered a stiff lower back earlier in the fourth Test and is ruled out of the 2018 IPL.

Let us take a look at five players who can replace the South African speedster in the Delhi Daredevils squad.

#5 Jason Holder

New Zealand v West Indies - 3rd ODI
Holder led Windies to the Final in the World Cup Qualifiers

The Windies skipper Jason Holder failed to attract any bids despite having a base price of INR 1.5 crores in the IPL auctions. The all-rounder's unimpressive T20 records are not luring for any franchise but the Windies skipper's recent form may help him earn an IPL contract in case of an injury.

Holder has featured in the IPL in the past but his records seem dismal as he has only managed to pick up 5 wickets in 11 games and his figures with the bat seem ordinary too. He has scored 38 runs in 5 innings at an average of 7.6. The 26-year-old recently led Windies to the Finals in the World Cup Qualifiers held in Zimbabwe.

Holder scalped 15 wickets in the World Cup Qualifiers and also scored two half-centuries including an unbeaten 99 against Papua New Guinea.
