Chris Morris has been retained for INR 11 crore by the Delhi Daredevils. The South African all-rounder rose to prominence in 2013 when he was procured by the Chennai Super Kings in the 2013 auction of the Indian Premier League. With competent both batting and bowling abilities, he is a valuable asset to any side. The IPL helped Morris to earn a spot in South Africa's one-day side.

In 2013, Morris played as a frontline bowler, where he picked 15 wickets in 16 matches for the Chennai Super Kings. In 2016 Morris joined the Delhi Daredevils, something that helped Morris unleash his batting abilities and convert himself into the perfect all-rounder. Despite batting in the lower order, the 30-year-old has amassed 439 runs at an average of 36.58. The pace bowling all-rounder will be vital for Daredevils' chances of winning the tournament.

Sportskeeda caught up with the all-rounder ahead of the commencement of IPL 2018. Here are a few excerpts from the interview:

Q. You have just arrived from South Africa after being a part of the test series against Australia, how do you manage the transition between formats so quickly?

Morris: It's quite easy. I've played a lot of cricket already. For me, it's quite easy to just change the line. You know, if you can't do it now, you can't do it in my opinion. You play enough cricket and enough series to change the formats (change between the formats) all the time.

Q. But there's a huge difference between the two formats. Must be tough to manage.

Morris: Obviously! There's quite a difference between the two formats. With the new ball, you bowl at the same areas whether its test cricket or T20. It's all the same. Cricket has been the same for the last 200 years. In T20 cricket only the death bowling has to different. At the end of the day, it's all the same.

Q. You played some match-winning knocks in the previous edition of the IPL. Are you looking forward to the finisher's role in this season?

Morris: Yeah! It's always fun to take the finishing role. If I hit a couple of sixes I look cool and I don't then I don't look cool. Its just my role and I am looking forward to it.

Apart from this, Morris enjoyed his photoshoot. He also played some fun games with his teammates. All of the action will be upon Daikin India's social media handle.
