An IPL XI that could take on the Mumbai Indians
West Indies, the defending World T20 Champions will take on a World X1 side in a fundraiser T20 match at the Lords Cricket ground on May 31st, 2018.
If this concept is extended to the Indian Premier League, then the 2017 IPL champions, Mumbai Indians would probably take on an IPL X1 side, consisting of the best players of the seven other sides.
Let's have a look at how the IPL X1 would turn out if the match was to happen.
Openers: Shikhar Dhawan(KX1P) and David Warner(SRH)
Warner has been one of the most successful openers in IPL and was also the Orange cap holder in 2017. He has been the most important player for the Sunrisers and has almost single-handedly taken the team to a number of victories.
Warner's explosiveness at the top is one asset which any team would wish to have. His opening partner, Shikhar Dhawan also finds a place in this team thanks to his recent run, which has been impressive, to say the least.
Dhawan has had an amazing run in the last two IPLs and has been a pillar of strength for the Hyderabad team. He scored 501 runs in the 2016 IPL which helped his team win the league that year. He backed it up with 479 runs last year which had prompted the Sunrisers Hyderabad management to use the Right to Match card for him in the 2018 IPL Auction.
