IPL 2018: Billy Stanlake ruled out of IPL with fractured finger
The injury plague in the IPL is not ending anytime soon as Sunrisers Hyderabad have now been jolted with an injury to fast bowler Billy Stanlake.
The Australian has suffered a fractured finger and has been ruled out the tournament.
This comes as big impediment for Hyderabad as Stanlake was one of the bright sparks in their bowling attack.
In four matches this season, Stanlake has troubled the batsmen with his extra pace and disconcerting bounce and has picked up five wickets at an average of 26 and with an economy rate of 8.12.
The Indian and Australian orthopaedic specialists, have advised Stanlake to undergo a surgical reduction and fixation operation to restore the functioning on the finger.
SRH have also confirmed that the Australian bowler has already flown back to his country for a more comprehensive treatment of his finger.
It has to be mentioned here that the 23-old suffered an injury while fielding in the game against Chennai Super Kings.
However, the team has not yet announced a replacement for the Australian.
Back in January 2017, Billy Stanlake won a surprise call-up to Australia's one-day international squad in against Pakistan.
In the six T20 International matches, he has played for Australia, the lanky seamer has picked up eight wickets.
