IPL 2018: CSK's Deepak Chahar ruled out for at least two weeks
Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar has been ruled out for a minimum of two weeks of IPL 2018. The pacer has been reported to have suffered a hamstring injury.
The incident took place in the fifth over of Mumbai's chase. Chahar, after having bowled the first delivery of the spell, was seen struggling and clutching his knees. He eventually walked off the field with the help of an assistant and did not return to the field.
Harbhajan Singh eventually finished off his quota, filling in for him and eventually finishing off with 3.5 overs.
Chahar's absence helped the Mumbai Indians, who notched up only their second victory, a much-needed one, to stay afloat in the tournament.
The hamstring pull to Chahar makes him an addition to the long list of players who have been unavailable for the Super Kings. Kedar Jadhav was ruled out of the entire IPL after the first game itself, Mitchell Santner was out of the IPL before it began, and Suresh Raina missed out on a few games owing to a calf injury.
With Chahar out, the Super Kings could bring in Dhruv Shorey or Karn Sharma or could replace Imran Tahir with David Willey or Mark Wood in the playing XI.
