IPL 2018, DD vs MI: 3 Unnoticed things from the game

<p>
Delhi Daredevils win their final game of this IPL

Delhi Daredevils clashed against Mumbai Indians in an important encounter at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and put up a challenging total of 174/4 in their allocated 20 overs.

This was largely due to Rishab Pant who again stood out as the top scorer for Delhi, with 64 of just 44 deliveries. Vijay Shankar chipped in by scoring 43 of 30 deliveries to propel Delhi’s score to 174/4.

In reply, Mumbai got off to a great start scoring at more than 9 runs per over in the powerplay. However, they kept losing wickets post the powerplay and suddenly from 57-1 they sank to 78-5.

Hardik Pandya and Ben Cutting struck few lusty blows, but with the required run rate climbing and with wickets lost at regular intervals, Mumbai fell short by 11 runs.

This win for Delhi meant that Mumbai Indians are out of the tournament.

In a game that had everything, let us look at 3 unnoticed things from today’s game.

Today he came out to bat and smoked 64 of just 44 deliveries to help his team reach a sizeable score of 174/4 in the 20 overs.

He made history today by becoming the highest run scored by a wicket-keeper in the history of IPL.

In this edition of the IPL, the hard-hitting left-hander has scored 684 runs, which becomes the highest ever by any wicket-keeper, surpassing the record of 660 runs by Robin Uthappa in 2014.
