IPL 2018, DD vs SRH: 3 unnoticed things from the game

It was a must-win game for the Delhi Daredevils as they looked to avenge their defeat against Sunrisers in Hyderabad in their previous game. Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bat first. However, they got off to a terrible start as they lost both the openers Prithvi Shaw and Jason Roy off consecutive deliveries in the 4th over. It was followed by the run out of their in-form captain Shreyas Iyer.

Rishabh Pant then took the matter into his own hands and played one of the best innings in the history of IPL. Chasing a stiff target of 188 runs, Hyderabad lost Alex Hales early but a magnificent unbeaten partnership of 176 runs between Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan got them home with 7 balls to spare.

Sportskeeda takes a look at 3 things that the fans might have missed from today’s game:

#1 Siddarth Kaul’s and Bhuvneshwar’s expensive spells

It is no secret that Sunrisers have one of the best bowling attacks in the IPL. They have the best death bowlers in the form of Siddharth Kaul and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Kaul, in particular, has been very impressive this season.

However, it was an off day for the duo as they were taken to the cleaners by Rishabh Pant. The duo conceded a massive 99 runs of their 8 combined overs. Pant was in brutal form today as smashed Bhuvi for 26 runs in the last over of Delhi’s innings. It was a rare sight for the cricket fans to see one of the best in the business being hit around the park like that. It was only the second time that Bhuvi had conceded more than 50 runs of his 4 overs in a T20 match.
