Guru’s team ahead of CSK vs RR: R Tripathi, S Samson, S Dhawan, KL Rahul, R Uthappa, S Watson, B Stokes, S Narine, A Russell, M Markande, S Kaul
There could be a few changes in both the sides today, with the likes of David Willey and Heinrich Klaasen waiting in the wings and Jofra Archer, Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis getting closer and closer to regaining full fitness.
As RR lock horns with CSK, you get a chance to play your own game of fantasy - StarPick is the new one on the block, and it has a lot of exciting features along with millions in prize money. You can create your StarPick team here.
However, there is no clear information yet on the status of any of these players. And even if they get in, what kind of adjustments it will trigger to the respective batting line-ups and how they will be used are all questions difficult to answer.
For example, Willey opening the innings in addition to being a new-ball bowler is fantasy gold, but he could well be used as a specialist pacer who bats down the order, which will neither help the Chennai Super Kings nor the fantasy team managers.
I have, therefore, decided to wait on all these options and just back the known commodities. So, with Sanju Samson and Ben Stokes already in and Rahul Tripathi getting in as the uncapped pick for the day, I have the Rajasthan side of things covered.
As far as the Super Kings are concerned, Shane Watson will always be their standout fantasy pick as long as he remains one of MS Dhoni’s go-to bowlers. Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo are the next best options, but there is no point in loading your side with the team's second-grade players when there is a consistent two-game gap between their matches till the 30th match of the tournament.
