Guru’s team ahead of DD vs RR: S Iyer, C Munro, S Samson, V Kohli, S Yadav, R Sharma, I Kishan, K Gowtham, J Archer, A Khan, M Markande

We have seen two different decks at Feroz Shah Kotla so far, with the first being bowling friendly and second batting friendly. So, make sure you can get all the information that you can on which deck this one is going to be played at - from both the pitch report and what the captains say at the toss, as that will go a long way in deciding how your fantasy picks perform.

With Jofra Archer, Colin Munro, and Shreyas Iyer already in my team, the other capped players worth considering for this match include Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant, Ben Stokes and Ajinkya Rahane. Rajasthan Royals play next after a span of five matches, so unless they bowl first, in which case I need to bring in one of their batsmen for the second innings captaincy, I wouldn’t need any of their players.

Pant is the only one left of the four in consideration as a result, and with his next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad away from home, I can’t waste a sub on him now for just this one, more so when I am not going to captain him. He could do well today, though, as Archer is his only real threat. I am pinning my hopes on the West Indian limiting the damage or the top 3 batting longer, which will eat away the number of deliveries that Pant gets to face.

Much like in the case of Pant, Archer is again the only one who can really trouble Iyer. Munro and Maxwell, on the other hand, have Krishnappa Gowtham and Ish Sodhi to deal with in addition to Archer.

Among the uncapped players, with Avesh Khan already in, it is a shootout between Prithvi Shaw and Gowtham. There is no one clear right answer here. Shaw is young and undependable, while Gowtham’s batting isn’t being utilized properly by the Royals, which has had a considerable effect on his fantasy potential.

*AB de Villiers not making the playing XI against Mumbai Indians pushed me away from using the multiplier yesterday, so I still have all 3 left.
