Highest run-scorers for each IPL team
The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League is set to be an exciting affair. With one decade into the cash-rich league, the marquee cricketers have grown into icons of their respective teams. The franchise-player relation is substantially proportional to their on-field performance. Some of them switched their teams/roles while others are still around with them. Let's have a look at the leading run-scorers for each of the IPL franchises.
#8 Virender Sehwag - Delhi Daredevils
In the inaugural season of the IPL, the Indian marquee cricketers were drafted directly into their home-state teams without going under the hammer. Out of those players, he is the solitary player to have scored most runs for his home-based franchise. Virender Sehwag, initially named the Captain, handed-over the authority to Gautam Gambhir to focus on his batting.
The 39-year-old opened the batting for Delhi Daredevils for six years and was the only player to be retained by the franchise in the IPL Auction 2011. In his journey, Viru scored a record-making five fifties in a row, thereby helping DD to finish as table-toppers for that season. Currently, he is the team director for Kings XI Punjab.
Performance for DD:
Inns - 85
Runs - 2382
SR - 158.37
HS - 119
