IPL 2018: Junior Dala replaces Chris Morris for Delhi Daredevils

The Delhi Daredevils have announced South African fast bowler Junior Dala as a replacement for the injured Chris Morris for the remainder of IPL 2018.

The 28-year-old Dala, who has been playing first-class since 2011, made his international debut this year, playing in the T20I series against India in February. He picked up seven wickets from three games in the series.

John Wright, President of the Northerns Cricket Union, Titans & Eastern Titans Cricket Board Member, had made the news public a day before the Daredevils made the official announcement, on Twitter.

In 52 games for the Titans, he has picked up 49 wickets, at an average of 25.34. At a base price of Rs. 20 lakh, he was unsold in the IPL auctions.

Morris played four games for the Daredevils this season, picking up three wickets in four games. The Daredevils are currently at the bottom of the IPL points table with five losses in six games. A day before the announcement, Gautam Gambhir had stepped down as captain, handing the skipper's armband to Shreyas Iyer.

The Daredevils played their next game against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Feroz Shah Kotla on April 27.
