IPL 2018: KXIP vs SRH, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) probable playing XI against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

KXIP
KXIP are third on the points table

Kings XI Punjab have had a mixed start to the IPL 2018 season. With two wins in the three matches that they have played, the Punjab-based franchise are third on the points table behind their next opponents and table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Ashwin-led side have come on top against Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings but lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore in their only away match so far in the tournament. With Hyderabad visiting them next, KXIP would want to settle onto an XI as soon as possible.

As far as the encounter at the PCA Stadium is concerned, the Punjab team management would definitely retain Chris Gayle, who came roaring back to form with a 33-ball-63 against CSK in Mohali. KL Rahul, who set the tournament alight with its fastest ever half-century would partner the West Indian at the top of the order.

Mayank Agarwal, who was at his brilliant best in the recently-concluded Indian domestic season, was demoted to the number three slot in KXIP's last match and Gayle's knock has all but ensured that the Karnataka batsman would continue to walk in after the fall of first wicket. Karun Nair, along with the out of form duo of Yuvraj Singh and Aaron Finch, will form the middle order of the team.

Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin and Afghanistan sensation Mujeeb Ur Rahman will make the spin department and would want to restrict SRH from scoring heavily in the middle overs. Australia's Andrew Tye will lead the pace battery, while India's Mohit Sharma and Barinder Sran will complete the XI.
