In reply, Mumbai too got off to a terrible start as they lost three wickets with just 21 runs on the board.

Things did not improve afterwards as some brilliant bowling from the Sunrisers ensured that Mumbai would go on to lose the match by 31 runs.

Let us have a look at the three masterstrokes from today’s game.

#1 Saving Rashid Khan for Kieron Pollard

Williamson's tactic of holding back Rashid Khan worked well

Mumbai got to off to a bad start, losing three wickets for not many runs on the board. Everyone expected Kane Williamson to deploy his match-winner Rashid Khan in the beginning but he had other plans.

Knowing that the big guy Pollard, struggles at the beginning against spin, Williamson introduced Khan only in the 10th over.

The move seemed to have worked straight away as Pollard tried to launch the Afghan spinner on the very first ball but the ball landed just a few meters in front of Manish Pandey at long on.

However, the big West Indian would not last for long as he managed to guide a leg break of Khan straight into the safe hands of Shikhar Dhawan at first slip.
