IPL 2018: Ranking the 8 participating teams based on winning percentage

IPL Trophy
The eleventh edition of the IPL will begin on April 7

The first decade of the Indian Premier League saw participation from 13 teams of which 3 of the teams were terminated due to multiple reasons while 2 were inducted for just two years when the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings were suspended in 2016.

The IPL has been raising the bar with every passing year, getting more and more competitive and enthralling. It has not just remained a source of entertainment as was said to be in the initial years.

The IPL has emerged as an important platform for youngsters who get an opportunity to get into the Indian team solely on the basis of the performance in the tournament.

Over the decade, some of the teams have dominated in the league winning it more than once while there are others who have been struggling to even qualify for the playoffs over the years. \

Here is a list of the 8 teams that are part of the IPL this year ranked on the basis of their winning percentage in the league.

Note: The winning percentage does not take into consideration the matches that ended in no result and counts tied matches as half a win whether or not the team won or lost in the Super Over.

#8 Delhi Daredevils (43.10%)

Delhi Daredevils

Matches-147, Won-62, Lost-82, Tie-1, No Result-2

Delhi Daredevils have been the unluckiest team in the IPL. It is the only active team in the league that has never played an IPL final.

In spite of finishing on the top of the table twice in the 10 seasons, the team has never played in a final. The ill-fated Delhi team has unfortunately finished at the bottom of the points table in three seasons.

Delhi Daredevils have performed below par even after building one of the best teams in many seasons. The team has always remained unsettled over the years and has seen more than 10 players captaining the team in the past decade.

In the IPL, Delhi Daredevils have played 147 matches out of which they have won 62 and lost 82 while 2 of the matches ended in no result. One of the matches was tied which they lost in the Super Over.
