IPL 2018: Chennai Super Kings predicted XI to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore
The Chennai Super Kings, who are returning from a two-year suspension, got off to a perfect start to their Indian Premier League 2018 campaign. With four wins in five matches, they are currently second on the IPL standings and will move to the top of the table if they defeat the Royal Challengers Bangalore in their encounter at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium today.
They began their campaign with a thrilling victory against the defending champions Mumbai Indians and followed that up with another victory at home. The only match they lost was against the Kings XI Punjab but they bounced back by winning two matches on the trot.
They will look to extend their winning streak against their rivals today.
Let's take a look at their predicted XI:
Shane Watson was at his imperious best against the Rajasthan Royals as he scored the second century of this year's tournament and his third century in IPL history. He failed to perform in the previous match and will hope to get back his form against his old team at the stadium where he has played a lot of matches.
Faf du Plessis played his first game for CSK against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, he failed to make an impact as he was dismissed after scoring just 11 runs. He will look to give CSK the perfect start against their rivals.
Suresh Raina scored his first half-century of the tournament against the Sunrisers. He has been in good form in the tournament so far and has been striking the ball well.

Ambati Rayudu has been the best batsman for CSK in the tournament so far. He has opened the batting, played at no. 3 and no. 4 and has impressed in all positions. He scored a match-winning knock in the previous match.
Sam Billings has been in poor form since his match-winning half-century against the Mumbai Indians in the first match of the tournament. He will need to pull up his socks and get back into his groove in order to keep his place in the side for the remainder of the tournament.
MS Dhoni has showed glimpses of his vintage self in the tournament so far with a couple of power packed performances with the bat. He almost took his side over the line against the Kings XI when he scored 77 despite a back injury, however, they lost in the last over. He played well in the previous match too and will hope to carry on his good form.
Ravindra Jadeja has been the weak link in CSK's line-up so far and has failed to make an impact with the bat or the ball. It will be interesting to see how long CSK continue to persist with him before dropping him.
Dwayne Bravo has been quite expensive with the ball this season and has not been able to pick up wickets they way he used to in the previous seasons. However, he has performed quite well with the bat and is still an integral part of CSK's unit.
Deepak Chahar has been quite impressive with the ball so far, picking up 6 wickets in 5 matches at an economy rate of 7.60. He will look to continue his good run of form against RCB.
Karn Sharma has played the previous two games in place of Harbhajan Singh and has picked up three wickets so far. The CSK team management will continue to use him as their only spinner and hope for him to pick up a few wickets.
Shardul Thakur has been quite expensive with the ball but has managed to pick up 6 wickets in 4 matches. He will hope to improve his economy rate and not leak so many runs.
