As far as RCB are concerned, Brendon McCullum and Quinton de Kock are set to open the innings once again for them. While the former New Zealand international impressed for his new side in the opening match (47 off 23), De Kock roared back to form against KXIP with a 45-run knock.
Skipper Virat Kohli, irrespective of the situation, will walk in at number three. The right-hander didn't have the best of starts and managed 31 runs at a strike of rate of less than 100 in the first match. Against KXIP, Kohli was looking good before Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rahman castled him with an exquisite delivery.
AB de Villiers has been RCB's best batsman so far in the tournament with knocks of 44 and 57 runs respectively in the two matches and will slot in at number four. Sarfaraz Khan, who hasn't been able to repay the faith the Bangalore-based franchise's team management has shown in him, might retain his place in the side, however, this might just be his last opportunity to prove himself.
Mandeep Singh, Chris Woakes and Washington Sundar will complete the lower middle order. Mandeep was among the runs against KKR, while Woakes managed to get a few wickets to his name in both the encounters. Sundar impressed against KXIP and finished with figures of 4-0-22-2.
Umesh Yadav, who has been a revelation with the ball for RCB will lead the pace attack and will have Delhi's Kulwant Khejroliya assisting him. Yuzvendra Chahal, who was supposed to Kohli's go-to man with the ball would want to regain his lost form as well.
