IPL 2018, RCB vs MI: Twitter reacts to RCB's win over MI at the Chinnaswamy

Both teams came into this match with two wins from seven matches and were desperately searching for their third win as they wanted to stay alive in the tournament. The home team Royal Challengers Bangalore were put into bat by Mumbai Indians on a spin-friendly surface.

RCB openers started off cautiously and even after a massive 22 run over off Duminy's bowling, RCB could only get to 62/2 in the first 9 overs. Brendon McCullum and Virat Kohli put together a 35-ball 60 run partnership to steady things.

After McCullum's run-out inflicted by Hardik, everything seemed fine for RCB before the eighteenth over by Hardik Pandya, who picked up three crucial wickets of Mandeep Singh, Virat Kohli and Washington Sundar. RCB could only make 4 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in eighteenth and nineteenth overs, but thanks to Colin de Grandhomme's three sixes in the last over, RCB could manage 167 runs.

Tim Southee started off the innings well for RCB by bowling out Ishan Kishan in the first over. Umesh Yadav followed Southee's pursuit picking up the wickets of Surya Kumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma off consecutive deliveries in the fourth over. Later MI lost Pollard off the first ball of the eighth over at 47/4 and Hardik Pandya joined the company of JP Duminy.

JP and HP tried building a partnership but Duminy was run-out due to some lazy running between the wickets and the elder Pandya brother came into the middle. The Pandya brothers stabilised the innings and were 106/5 needing 62 off last 5 overs.

They scored 17 off the sixteenth and looked like they can go all the way but fell short of the target by 14 runs because of excellent death bowling by Siraj and Southee who bowled two overs each and took the wickets of Krunal and Hardik respectively and conceded only 30 runs in the last four overs.
