IPL 2018: Regular season Indian all-star XI
With the regular season of the IPL complete. four teams are through to the playoffs as the season intensifies. The crunch part of the season will get underway today with the first match of the playoffs as SRH takes on CSK. The winner of this match reaches the final but the loser will play the winner of RR vs KKR to determine the IPL 2018 finalists.
The regular season was an entertaining bonanza with some fantastic cricket being displayed by all teams in the competition. The Indian cricketers have done well this season and we look at the best XI comprising the best in form players of the tournament.
Here we look at the regular season all-star XI, comprising of Indian players who have been stand-out performers in the league.
Openers
Ambati Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu has been in sensational form of late and has been rewarded with a national team call-up. Rayudu has been in stellar form in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings and will be heading to the upcoming tour of England bursting with confidence. A middle-order batsman, he can change the course of a game with his destructive hitting ability whilst at the same time add stability to the innings. Rayudu has scored 586 runs including a century in his 14 league games this season.
KL Rahul
KXIP opening batsman, KL Rahul has showcased his batting skills this IPL after coming back from an injury layoff. The player has been in sublime form this tournament, notching 659 runs in 14 games with a personal best of 95 not out. With some splendid knocks this campaign, Rahul has guided the team and performed the best he could but the franchise has failed to qualify for the playoffs.
