Shane Warne flies back to Australia for a holiday

The
The mentor is to return within 10 days

What's the story?

Rajasthan Royals' mentor Shane Warne has flown back to Australia for a 10-day break from an exhausting cricketing season. He has been on the road from March 1, commentating for the South Africa-Australia series, followed by the IPL.

"Hello Melbourne. See you in 10 days India & will be back apart of the #IPL," tweeted the Australian legend.

In case you didn't know...

The ace leggie who led the team to their first and only title in the inaugural season was named the mentor for the team in the 11th edition of the tournament. He has been guiding the returning team to gain their stature back this IPL.

The heart of the matter

After spending some excruciating time in an eventful South Africa-Australia series and flying immediately to India to coach the Rajasthan team, the 48-year-old has hardly found any rest. In the quick vacation he has opted for, the team will play a couple of matches without him atop the management.

In the absence of Warne, others coaches assigned for batting (Amol Muzumdar), spin bowling (Sairaj Bahutule) and fielding (Dishant Yagnik), will help the Royals through the coming matches. Zubin Bharucha, Head of Cricket of Rajasthan Royals, will monitor the entire process until his return.

What's next?

Fifth on the table after winning two out of three matches, the Rajasthan Royals will lock horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium.

There could be a couple of changes within the playing XI, expecting a replacement for D'Arcy Short who hasn't put his best foot forward. A costly buy for the team, Ben Stokes is yet to reach his explosive best.

Author's take

A mere break of 10 days from the team, in the early stages of the game, shouldn't make much of a difference. Given that connectivity isn't an issue, the team will probably continue getting his feedback post every match despite his physical absence. The RR team seems to have struck a right balance, however, losing just one game out of the three they've played and will definitely look to dominate in the home game.
