IPL 2018: South Africa's Junior Dala all set to join Delhi Daredevils, according to reports
According to the latest development, South African bowler, Junior Dala is all set to enter the Indian Premier League and he might well be a part of the Delhi Daredevils squad.
If reports are to be believed, Delhi Daredevils are looking for a cover for one of their injured overseas players. It is not yet clear, which player is out injured, but if the trend of previous matches are keenly observed, one of Jason Roy or Chris Morris might well be headed home.
Taking to social media site, Twitter, John Wright, who is the President of Northerns Cricket Union, Titans & Eastern Titans Cricket Board Member made the news public.
Congratulations @JDala3 on your call up to the @DelhiDaredevils @IPL. Good luck @Titans_Cricket
There has been no confirmation made by the franchise and hence there are still apprehensions over his eventual commitment.
It has to be mentioned here that there are also reports that Rajasthan Royals have shown interest in Dala as a cover for the injured Dushmantha Chameera.
The right arm fast bowler made his International debut for South Africa against India in the T20I series earlier this year.
He has been a consistent performer for the Titans as in 52 T20 matches, he has picked up 49 wickets with an average of 25.34 and economy rate of 8.24.
He generally bowls towards the end of the innings and has at his disposal a mean yorker and subtle changes of pace which has always held him in great stead. However, he was unsold in the IPL auctions with a base price 20 lakhs.
This will be a welcome addition for Delhi Daredevils, who are currently at the bottom of the table, which forced Gautam Gambhir to relinquish captaincy. Shreyas Iyer has been appointed the new captain of the team!
