IPL 2018, SRH vs CSK: 4 things you might have missed from the match

<p>
Williamson's brilliant innings went in vain

The first match on the double-header Sunday saw a Southern derby as Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings were to lock horns at Uppal in Hyderabad.

After winning the toss Williamson decided to field on a two-paced track as the decision paid off for them. Chennai saw a sluggish start before Rayudu and Raina managed to up the ante to put 182 runs on the board.

Sunrisers didn’t start on the positive note due to a top-order crumble and thereafter it was too much to ask for the likes of Williamson and Pathan.

As a result, the Orange army always felt short of the target as Chennai registered their fourth win to go to the top of the table.

Let’s take a look at some of the things that went unnoticed:

#1 Faf Du Plessis’ struggle against the seamers

Du Plessis opened the innings for CSK

After the win in the previous encounter against Rajasthan Royals, Chennai bought in Du Plessis as a replacement for Imran Tahir, who was ruled out due to an injury.

The change saw the South African opening the innings alongside Shane Watson.

Playing his first game in this IPL, South African skipper didn’t look convincing in his time spent at the crease.

He found it difficult to get going against the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul and Billy Stanlake.

Eventually, he was stumped on a delivery of Rashid Khan for a paltry 11 off 13 deliveries.
