IPL 2018 : Top 3 dark horses for the orange cap
IPL is the annual fest that is organised every year in India where players from around the world participate to showcase their talent.
There are some players who perform exceptional in the two months of IPL.
IPL awards such players for their outstanding performances and consistency. One such award is Orange cap.
The 'Orange Cap' is an award presented to the leading run scorer in the IPL. The tradition to award cap was introduced a week after the start of the first season of IPL on 25 April 2008.
The batsman who is the leading scorer after each match wears this orange cap while fielding.
The overall highest scorer at the end of the tournament wins the actual Orange Cap award on the day of the season's final at the presentation ceremony.
We also see few dark horses like Shaun Marsh and Shreyas Iyer in the tournament who out of nowhere show some mind-blowing cricket.
Marsh was the first winner of the orange cap award. So, this year also we can have such players. Here are the few players who could be dark horses for the orange cap this year.
#3 Colin Munro
Colin Munro was a steal for Delhi Daredevils for a price of 1.9 crores at the auction.
He has gained a reputation for being a constant striker of the ball. The year 2017 was the best phase of Munro's career as he played many match-winning knocks for the country.
He became the fourth player to produce multiple T20I centuries after Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum and Evin Lewis.
He is in good touch this season and has scored 396 runs in nine T20Is this year.
If Munro is given a fair chance in DD, he will surely tear apart the opposition's bowling. A destructive batsman at the top, Munro has gained a huge confidence and consistency in this season.
He is also a handy medium pace bowler. If Munro finds his touch in IPL, he will be a huge asset for DD.
