In their second match of IPL 2018, KKR scored 202/6 after collapsing to 89/5 at the end of 10 overs. Andre Russel scored 88 off 36 deliveries with the help of 11 sixes, and led KKR to a good total of 203. CSK reached the target in the penultimate delivery of the match and ensured that the Chennai crowd would witness a thriller.

The openers, Shane Watson (42 off 19 balls) and Ambati Rayudu (39 off 26 balls) gave them the perfect start, scoring 75 runs in the powerplay overs.

After a blazing start, Chennai had a period of lull in the middle overs with the spin trio tightening the screws and not allowing Raina and Dhoni to break free. It was Sam Billings who brought them back into the game, scoring 56 runs from just 23 deliveries, hitting two fours and five sixes. Even though Billings got out in the penultimate over, Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja took them home.

With 17 needed off the final over, their task was made a bit easy by Vinay Kumar as he started the over with a no-ball, which Bravo hit for a six. The target effectively came down to 10 runs off 6 balls and Jadeja finished the game by hitting a six on the penultimate delivery of the match, making the final score 205/5.

This is the sixth highest successful run chase in the history of IPL. Here are the top 5:
