IPL 2019: 3 Delhi Capitals players to watch out for
The 12th edition of the world's best T20 league, the Indian Premier League, (IPL), is set to get underway on March 23.
The Delhi Capitals have never got their hands on the IPL trophy and have never qualified for the finals. They have also not qualified for playoffs since 2012.
The Delhi-based franchise's squad for the upcoming season is looking well balanced, with a mix of good domestic and overseas players.
The franchise has changed their name from the Delhi Daredevils to the Delhi Capitals for the approaching season of the IPL. It will be fascinating to see if they'll be able to change their o-field fortunes as well.
Here we will take a look at three players from the Delhi Capitals to watch out for in IPL 2019.
#3 Colin Ingram
The destructive left-hand batsman from South Africa, Colin Ingram, plays in different T20 leagues all around the world.
The 33-year-old has been very successful as a T20 batsman, as he has scored 5519 runs from 215 matches at an average of 30.83 and a strike rate of 139.26, with 114 runs being his highest score. He has also has hit 35 fifties and 3 centuries.
Ingram is also a part-time leg-break bowler. In 67 innings, he has taken 38 wickets at an average of 32.13 and economy rate of 7.86, with 4/32 being his best figures.
Colin Ingram was bought by Delhi Capitals for a hefty sum of INR 6.4 crores at the IPL auctions of 2019.
The T20 veteran played for the Delhi franchise in IPL 2011 where he played just three matches and was unable to impress, as he scored just 21 runs from 3 innings.
After making a mark in various T20 leagues, Ingram will be looking forward to perform in the world's best T20 league as well.
