IPL 2019: CSK winning habit continues as the Whistle podu army wins the best fan club award

Whistle Podu CSK Fan Club, the official fan club of Chennai Super Kings has won the best fan club of the year award in a poll conducted by Indian Sports Honour.
In case you didn't know...
Indian Sports Honour is a committee that rewards excellence in sports and nurtures promising athletes with the help of Virat Kohli foundation. They conducted a poll in their official Twitter account for various awards like “Breakthrough Performance of the year”, “Spirit of Sports Honour” and etc. One among the awards was “Best Fan club of the year” award.
The 4 nominees for this award were Bharat Army (Fan club of Indian cricket team), Whistle Podu CSK Fan Club (Fan club Chennai Super Kings), Blue Pilgrims (Fan club of the Indian football team) and Manajapada (Fan club of Kerala Blasters).
The heart of the matter
The poll ran for 7 days with Bharat army and Whistle podu fan club giving a tough fight to each other. There was no clear leading like in other awards. The poll remained neck to neck with either of the team taking the lead.
But towards the end, Whistle Podu fan club started to dominate and thus ended as the winners of the poll. At the end of the poll which got completed earlier today, Whistle Podu fan club had a 47% vote share while the Bharat Army had 39% vote share. Manjapada and Blue Pilgrims got 12% and 2% vote share respectively.
What’s next?
Chennai Super Kings who returned to IPL after 2 years were crowned the champions in last IPL season. This victory of their fan club will be icing on the cake for the franchise. Also, this victory will work as a boost to the franchise and thus drive the team to defend their title this year too, thus if they do so they will become the first team to lift 4 IPL trophies.
