The Indian Premier League was initiated by the BCCI in 2008 with the aim of nurturing the young cricketing talent of the country in the best manner possible. The young players get a chance of playing together with the legends of the game and also receive training from the world's best coaches.

A host of players such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and many more have become household names thanks to the cash-rich league. The BCCI honors the best emerging player of the season with a trophy every year and Shubman Gill won that award in IPL 2019.
