IPL 2019: Kolkata Knight Riders: Complete list of players
The Indian Premier League is just a few weeks away as the tournament is set to kick off with the Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 23. The schedule for the entire tournament has not been released as the dates for the General Elections have not been finalised yet.
The Kolkata Knight Riders will begin their campaign against last year's runners-up, the Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 24. They defied the odds last year as they qualified for the playoffs, defeating the Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator, but then losing to the Sunrisers in the second playoff.
Led by Dinesh Karthik, KKR were quiet for most of the auction, which was held in December, but went on to purchase quite a few players towards the end of the auction. They bought Carlos Brathwaite for ₹5 crores and Lockie Ferguson for ₹1.60 crores. Apart from these two players, they purchased quite a few domestic players as well.
They will mainly rely on the players who performed well last season. Kamlesh Nagarkoti, the young pacer who missed the entire season last time around, will look to make a mark for himself this year. Alongside him, the pace duo of Shivam Mavi and Prasidh Krishna will look to continue their fine run of form as well.
Here is the entire list of players who will be playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders this season:
