IPL 2019: Match 10, DC vs KKR Match Prediction: Who will win today's match?
Both the teams have had contrasting starts to the tournament. While Delhi Capitals did really well to topple the three-time champions Mumbai Indians in their opening game, they lost to Chennai Super Kings in their first home game of the season. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders have had a terrific start as Andre Russell powered them to wins in both games.
Kolkata Knight Riders will be playing their first away game of the season. Batting has been their strength as the bowling has conceded more than 180 in both games so far. Delhi have done well with the ball but have blown hot and cold with the bat.
Hence, it’s going to be an intriguing battle. It will also be interesting to see how the pitch plays at the Feroz Shah Kotla. It was on the slower side in DC’s game against CSK.
If Delhi Capitals bat first
Delhi have a very good top five in the batting order, featuring Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Colin Ingram, and Rishabh Pant. While Shaw and Iyer haven’t quite hit their straps, Ingram batted well in the opening game. Dhawan hasn’t looked at his sublime best but has found a way to score runs.
But the X-factor has been Rishabh Pant. He’s batted like a dream. He scored 78 off 27 balls in the first game and threatened to take the game away in the second one as well when he scored 25 off 12 before he was dismissed.
Chris Morris might return to the XI and Axar Patel can hit the long ball and tonk a few as well. Hence, if DC bat first and their big guns get going, they might score in excess of 160.
If Kolkata Knight Riders bat first
Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn form one of the deadliest opening pairs in T20 cricket. Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana have been in wonderful form and have controlled the middle-overs really well. Meanwhile, Andre Russell has been simply brilliant. He has taken apart both the bowling attacks at the death he’s faced in the season so far.
Dinesh Karthik and Shubman Gill haven’t really got opportunities and they can be very effective as well. Hence, KKR boast of a really formidable top 7.
Hence, if they bat first, we can expect a score of 170 or more.
KKR have had the better of Delhi on 13 out of the 21 occasions the two teams have faced each other. They seem to have the momentum on their side and firepower, especially with the bat. They seem well balanced and might pip Delhi and make it three out of three.
