28-year-old South African left-arm fast bowler Beuran Hendricks will join Mumbai Indians as a replacement for the injured West Indies pace bowler Alzarri Joseph.

Joseph, who was picked by Mumbai Indians as a replacement for Kiwi quick Adam Milne, was injured in the match against Rajasthan Royals as he dislocated his arm while fielding.

Joseph played only three matches in this season. In his IPL debut, against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he recorded the best bowling figures in IPL by picking 6 wickets for just 12 runs in 3.4 overs. The previous record was in the name of Sohail Tanvir (6/14) for Rajasthan Royals against Chennai Super Kings in 2008. But Joseph went wicket-less in the next two matches and went for plenty of runs.

Beuran Hendricks has been a part of Kings XI Punjab in 2014 and 2015. Overall he has picked 9 IPL wickets from 7 matches. He also has 288 wickets from 83 first-class matches. In the recent edition of MSL (Mzansi Super League), he picked 12 wickets in 8 matches.

Hendricks made his T20I debut against Australia in 2014. Overall, Hendricks has played 10 T20Is and picked 16 wickets. The last international series he played was the T20 series against Pakistan on February, in which he picked 8 wickets from 3 matches.

He made his ODI debut against Pakistan on January 2019.

Mumbai Indians are currently third in the IPL points table, having won six matches and lost four. They will play their next match against Chennai Super Kings on 26th April 2019 at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
