Head coaches of any IPL team play a crucial role in managing the resources and making effective use of the available players. It is for this reason, we consider a few coaches as successful coaches in IPL. Let us see who the most successful Coaches in IPL 2019 are:
# 8 Mike Hesson - Kings XI Punjab
Win Percentage in IPL - N.A
Mike Hesson is the only debutant coach among the coaches of all the 8 IPL teams. He previously served as the coach of the New Zealand cricket team until 2018. He is widely known for his effective man management skills and his calm outlook.
Having played the last edition of IPL under Brad Hodge, Punjab had everything going well for them in the initial stages. The team faltered in the final laps and failed to qualify. Mike Hesson will be given the responsibility to bring the IPL 2019 trophy to the Punjab dugout for the first time since the inception of the league.
Mike Hesson was a crucial part of the Punjab think-tank in the IPL 2019 auctions and literally handpicked most of the players including Sam Curran, Moises Henriques, Mohammed Shami, Nicholas Pooran, Varun Chakravarthy among the others.
Since he has no previous experience in IPL, his win % has no relevance. But going by his experience as an international team coach, you surely can’t write him off in IPL 2019.
