IPL 2019: Three biggest match-winners for the Sunrisers Hyderabad
The IPL auctions are done and dusted, and the teams are all ready to go. Every team has a squad that looks strong enough to fancy their chances of getting into the knock-out stages. It was a well balanced auction and every team left the auction room with a smile on their face. Every team has some players who could potentially play a significant role in the tournament.
Here is a look at three such players from the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) who will have a big role in how far the team goes in this year's edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
When you start looking at the SRH team for good quality players, you will have to scratch your head to find the top 3, as it is simply one of the most balanced and well bought team of the tournament.
However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will make it to the top 3, 9 times out of 10. There has been an evident dip in his performance in the recent past, if you were to go by numbers. But his death bowling is one thing that is bang on, to accompany his already good enough new ball bowling. He picks himself in the playing XI almost every time.
He has been with the Hyderabad team for many years, and has been leading the pack of wolves who go there hunting for wickets. He was one of the three players retained by the Sunrisers, before the auction last year. He has no point left to be proven to gain his team's trust, but performing well this IPL would surely be on his list, so that he can gain confidence, going into the all important World Cup. He is a match winner and even the management and coaching staff of his team knows that.
David Warner
The explosive Australian opener will be returning to cricket after a one year ban, and could be back to captaining the Hyderabad team. He is a match winner and everyone in the world knows it. When he scores, he scores big and makes sure that his team goes home only winning. Warner as a opener is probably the best partner for someone like Martin Guptill or Kane Williamson whose natural game is a little slow in the initial stages of the innings.
He has crossed the 4000 runs mark in the IPL in just 114 matches, the least by any player. Overall, he is a bonafide match-winner and there are no second thoughts about it.
Rashid Khan
How can someone miss Rashid Khan in the list of match-winners for the SRH. He is the man behind giving the worst nightmares to the opposition team's batsmen the night before a match, and he has been giving them these nightmares quite consistently.
The man with a golden arm when he started his IPL career has gone on to become a very skillful all-rounder. In 31 matches he has taken 38 wickets at an exceptional economy of 6.68. He is the man behind the way SRH defended those low totals in last year's IPL. He has become the face of the Afghanistan Cricket team in no time at all, and has shown how effective he can be in any condition around the world.
He is an asset to the team of SRH and they have done well to protect him. He is another player who picks himself into the side when SRH take the field. This young man has the potential of snatching a game from the opposition just when they think they are going to win. There is no possible replacement for Rashid Khan and that is what makes him all the more special.
Another notable mention from the SRH squad would be the New Zealand captain Kane Williamson. The way he batted last year, while also captaining the Hyderabad side to the finals of the IPL, was just amazing. He was probably the best replacement for David Warner.
But thats not all. The Hyderabad team also has some other good players like Shakib Al Hasan, Jonny Bairstow, Billy Stanlake, Yusuf Pathan and Martin Guptill who also can be as good as any and turn matches in Hyderabad's favour on their day.
