IPL 2019 Updated Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap holders after RR vs SRH match

Jaipur hosted today’s match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Steve Smith won the toss and did not surprise anyone by choosing to bowl first. Rajasthan missing out on the services of Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes as they have returned to England to join the national team.

SRH started their innings very well though they lost their skipper quite early. Manish Pandey scored his second half century of this year’s IPL and took the team’s total to 160.

Rajasthan came out all guns blazing with the openers scoring a breezy 78 in 9.1 overs. RR never looked back from there. They won the match comfortably with 7 wickets in hand and 5 balls to spare.

Points Table

Chennai became the first team to qualify for the playoffs this season, as RR sealed the game against SRH. CSK has 16 points from 12 matches.

Rajasthan has overtaken KKR and moved on to the 6th position in the Points Table with 10 points from 12 matches.

SRH is at the 4th position with the same points as RR and KXIP, but with a better NRR (Net Run Rate) of 0.559.

Orange Cap

David Warner became the first batsman to cross the 600 run mark in this year’s IPL. No other batsman has even crossed the 450 runs mark. Bairstow, who has returned to England, is at the 2nd spot. Rahane has entered top 10 of the list with 391 runs from 12 innings.Steve Smith has climbed up to the 14th spot with 319 runs of 11 matches.

Purple Cap

Shreyas Gopal is the leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan this season. He has jumped up to the 3rd spot with 15 wickets from 12 matches. Jaydev Unadkat has moved upto the 20th spot with 9 wickets from 10 matches.
