IPL 2020: Three overseas players Sunrisers Hyderabad could consider at the auction
Sunrisers Hyderabad have four overseas players who pick themselves in the playing 11. David Warner, Kane Williamson, Jonny Bairstow and Rashid Khan need no introduction and are the nucleus of the team.
With Shakib Al Hasan being banned for a year, he will not be a part of the Sunrisers team in 2020 IPL. Also the franchise from Hyderabad will have to identify a few overseas players who could be a vital part of their team in 2020 IPL.
An injury to any of the key overseas players or an early return for international duty may hurt their progress in the IPL.
On that note here is a look at 3 such overseas players who Sunrisers Hyderabad could target in the 2020 IPL auction to strengthen their team:
#1. Mustafizur Rahman
Mustafizur Rahman played a vital role in guiding the Sunrisers Hyderabad to the IPL title in the year 2016. He picked up 17 wickets in 16 matches and was a match-winner with the ball. After playing a solitary game in the 2017 IPL, Rahman was picked up by Mumbai Indians in 2018 and a hairline fracture to his toe ruled him out of the 2018 IPL after seven matches.
He did not get the NOC from the Bangladesh Cricket Board to play in the 2019 IPL season due to fitness concerns to keep him fit for the 2019 World Cup.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have a bowling attack comprising mostly Indian bowlers namely Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddharth Kaul, Khaleel Ahmed, Sandeep Sharma and Basil Thampi. Sunrisers may look to get Rahman back into their team and form a formidable pace attack which suits their team in home conditions.
Rahman can be a replacement fir Billy Stanlake who did not play a single game in the 2019 IPL.
Rahman has been a game changer with the ball for Bangladesh and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the past and it will not be a surprise if he is back with the men in orange in 2020 IPL season.
