IPL 2023: Predicting 3 players who will score the most runs in today's DC vs CSK clash
The 67th match of IPL 2023 will see the Delhi Capitals (DC) lock horns with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, May 20.
CSK lost their last game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which put a question mark on their chances of finishing in the top two. They will now have to beat Delhi and hope that the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lose to the Knight Riders to finish in the top two.
The Super Kings had a poor outing with the bat, managing to put only 144/6 on the board. Shivam Dube was the highest run-scorer, chipping in with an unbeaten 48. The CSK bowlers failed to defend the target as KKR got home with nine balls to spare.
DC, on the other hand, secured a thumping victory over the Punjab Kings (PBKS). Batting first, they posted 213 runs, riding on a batting masterclass from Rilee Roussouw. They successfully defended the total to secure their fifth win of the season. David Warner and Co. will now look to end their IPL 2023 campaign on a high.
The wicket at the Arun Jaitley Stadium has produced mixed results so far and it is unlikely that batters will have it easy. They will have to bide their time on this wicket to make a significant impact with the bat.
On that note, let's take a look at three players who will score the most runs in today's DC vs CSK clash.
#1 Prithvi Shaw - DC
A lot was expected out of Prithvi Shaw ahead of this IPL. However, he was in woeful form in the first few games and was eventually left out of the starting XI.
The dashing right-handed batter returned to the team in the last game and played a flamboyant 54-run knock.
Shaw looked in decent touch and will hope to sign off from IPL 2023 with another big knock amidst reports suggesting that Delhi might offload him next year.
#2 Devon Conway - CSK
Chennai opener Devon Conway has been their highest run-scorer this season with 498 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 49.80, with five half-centuries along the way.
However, the southpaw has failed to set the stage on fire in the last few games. With the playoffs on the horizon, Conway will hope to put in a solid effort with the bat on Saturday.
Conway likes to bide his time in the middle before shifting gears, a ploy that can work in his favor on the sluggish Delhi wicket.
#3 David Warner - DC
Although the Capitals haven't fared well in this year's IPL, skipper David Warner has looked in good touch.
The Australian batter smashed 46 runs off 31 balls against Punjab and will hope to sign off his campaign on a high.
Warner has amassed 430 runs in 13 matches at an average of 33.08, hitting five half-centuries in the process.
