IPL 2024: Predicting 3 players who could score the most runs in today's MI vs LSG match

The Mumbai Indians (MI) will square off against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 67th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday, May 17. Both teams will play their last game of the season and will look to end on a high.

The two teams met each other earlier this season at the Ekana Cricket Stadium where the home side beat Mumbai by four wickets. Batting first, MI could only muster 144/5 in their 20 overs. In reply, Marcus Stoinis' half-century guided LSG home with four balls to spare.

The Super Giants also led in their overall head-to-head record, winning four out of five meetings. KL Rahul and company will look to do a double against Mumbai, while the latter will look to better their record.

The Wankhede Stadium has witnessed plenty of runs this season and another high-scoring encounter is on the cards tonight. On that note, let's take a look at three players who could score the most runs in today's MI vs LSG match.

#1 Suryakumar Yadav - MI

The Mumbai No. 3 batter has struggled for consistency since he returned to the side after an injury layoff. Barring a century against the SunRisers Hyderabad and a fifty against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Suryakumar Yadav has struggled to get going.

Suryakumar will look to get his mojo back in the final game before Team India leave for the West Indies and the USA for the 2024 T20 World Cup 2024.

#2 KL Rahul - LSG

The Super Giants skipper has had another excellent campaign with the bat in IPL 2024. Despite all the criticisms for his below-par strike rate, KL Rahul has led his team from the front, aggregating 465 in 12 matches at an average of 35.77, including three half-centuries.

Rahul, who was not included in the World Cup squad, will look to end his campaign on a high and lead his side to victory.

#3 Rohit Sharma - MI

The former Mumbai skipper has had an average IPL 2024 campaign, accumulating only 349 runs in 13 matches at an average of 29.08 and a strike rate of 145.42. He also scored a fine hundred against the Chennai Super Kings, albeit in a losing cause.

With the T20 World Cup looming large, Rohit Sharma will look to get into the groove and play a big knock before he sits on the plane for the mega event. Playing at his home ground Wankhede, the occasion doesn't get bigger than this form to return to form.
