Inaugural edition champions Rajasthan Royals and the new franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad have played twice previously, and on both occasions the home team won their respective matches.
In the first meeting at Jaipur, riding on the Shane Watson’s unbeaten 98, Rajasthan Royals chased down the target of 145 runs with a little over two overs to spare. While in the reverse fixture, hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 136 runs on the board and successfully defended it, restricting the Royals to 113 for 9 in their 20 allotted overs.

James Faulkner is the only player in T20 cricket to have picked up a five-wicket-haul against the same team (Sunrisers Hyderabad) twice in a season.
Sunrisers have limited their opponents to a score of 130 or less in 10 of their 16 league matches this season.
Shane Watson needs four more wickets to achieve the milestone of 100 T20 wickets.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have posted the least fifties of all the teams this season – 7.
Of the 9 times Rajasthan Royals have batted first this season, they have gone on to win seven matches. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad have won six of their eight run-chases.
What’s next in store for teams: The winner of this clash will travel to Kolkata to take on Mumbai Indians on May 24 in the 2nd Qualifier, while the losers will pack their bags and head home as it would be the end of their campaign in this season.
