IPL 6: KXIP vs DD – Heroes of the day

In the 67th match of the IPL, the Kings XI Punjab managed to beat Delhi Daredevils by 7 runs despite strong resistance from David Warner’s team. Both teams have had their own share of heroes today.
Let’s look at the players who stood out:

David Miller

David Miller continued his form with the bat with an impressive 44 runs from only 23 balls, studded with 3 boundaries and 4 huge sixes. Gilchrist and Marsh provided a great start and it was up to Miller to carry on the good work, and he did not disappoint. His quick-fire knock enabled Punjab to post a strong target of 172.

Sandeep Sharma

Yet another standout bowling performance from this exciting teenager. Punjab will be ruing the fact that they did not use this talented bowler early on in their IPL campaign this season. Sandeep Sharma’s economical figures of 3/23 were crucial in denying Delhi yet another victory. The Daredevils could have won this match if not for Sharma’s wicket-taking skills.

Ben Rohrer

Virender Sehwag and Mahela Jayawardene showed some promise with the bat, but it was Ben Rohrer’s blitzkrieg that brought Delhi ever so close to Punjab’s target. Rohrer’s special knock consisted of 49 runs from a mere 29 balls, and included 3 Yes Bank maximums. Rohrer might have lost his wicket to Chawla, but if Jayawardene had stayed with him till the end, we could have witnessed a different result.
